Advanced Chiropractic Technique

Utilizing SOT (Sacro-Occipital Technique), which includes specialized integrated procedures such as: chiropractic biomechanics, nutrition, functional neurology, soft tissue reflexes, muscle reactivation, and chiropractic Craniopathy addressing the Craniosacral respiratory mechanism.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Care

Pregnancy and Postpartum are two areas in which women’s nervous system goes through drastic changes. Chiropractic care supports this journey through many avenues. This care during pregnancy can improve maternal comfort, promote proper fetal positioning, and lead to an overall more smooth labor and delivery. Postpartum care also can help improve comfort and alignment whilst regulating the nervous system.

Chiropractic Craniopathy

Before SOT was discovered by Dr. De Jarnette, many doctors had made arguments that a specific body area was the major key to health. Some doctors still believe the atlas, pelvis or sacrum to be the most important to be aligned. SOT methods has the belief that the body is exquisitely complex and interrelated. When there are subluxations in the spine, the nervous system is compromised.

Dr. De Jarnette discovered the significance of the cranium and the importance of cranial work. 80% of the nervous system is in the head and can be influenced by cranial structures. SOT explains this complex interaction, offering understanding of the complexity of the reflexes and fibers associated with nervous system function. Manipulating the cranium offers great success in restoring nervous system function, for a variety of conditions.

Pediatric & Infant Care

Chiropractic care for infants is extremely safe. With the gentle methods used at Grit Health and Wellness, children are often the ones that can’t wait to come back and be adjusted. In the beginning months of a child’s life there are many issues that can arise such as colic, breastfeeding/latch issues, reflux etc., that can be difficult to manage as a parent. Our approach offers support to the child’s nervous system, often providing relief to these common concerns and allowing the infant to thrive in their new environment.

Here at Grit, we love treating children of all ages for developmental concerns, postural imbalances, sensory processing disorders, and more. Chiropractic care can help with many more conditions than simple muscle-skeletal issues.

Functional Nutrition

Our approach with functional nutrition focuses on recognizing and getting to the root cause of health issues. This allows us to optimize health and create opportunity for long-term health solutions. As we look at chronic disease and understand prevention, management and root cause, we can keep the patient at the center of our care. Each individuals’ genetic, biochemical and lifestyle factors are considered and each plan is unique.

We use lab assessments to gain a well rounded understanding of the patients overall state. This allows us to understand many things that are often overlooked in conventional medicine.

Chiropractic Manipulative Reflex Technique (CMRT)

One of the main reasons that sets Grit Health and Wellness apart is the unique ability to manipulate the nervous system using CMRT (Chiropractic Manipulative Reflex Technique). SOT uses this technique to help solve complex issues. We are often told by patients that they have been to many other doctors with no solutions to their problems, and our advanced techniques allow a new perspective to those struggling with chronic cases.

CMRT is a system of organ function analysis and treatment as it relates to the spine and occipital tendon insertions. Using CMRT, we can find which vertebrae are subluxated, but also discover the degree of involvement i.e. cerebrospinal-meningeal, vertebral visceral, or structural-vertebral. Along with soft tissue reflexes, this nourishes the organ being treated, increasing healing. Using occipital fibers that are based on the ability of the proprioceptive system (Golgi Tendons), we can take a whole body approach to respond to muscles that are influenced by spinal subluxations and visceral and meningeal disturbances. Trapezius fibers are also used with spinal palpation to define spinal subluxation and cervical indicators to define lumbar subluxation.
