Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to commonly asked questions about our products and services.
Do you take insurance?
We run a cash based practice, meaning we do not take insurance. This is because insurance limits our care, making it difficult to achieve the full scope of care that Grit Health and Wellness offers. If you would like, our office can give you a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Be advised that we would be considered “Out of Network” for all insurance plans.
We do accept HSA/FSH, if applicable.
Is chiropractic care safe for children and pregnant women?
Yes. Chiropractic care—including SOT—is very safe for children, infants, and pregnant women. In fact, it is often sought out during pregnancy for comfort and alignment, and for children dealing with common issues like colic, ear infections, or developmental challenges. Adjustments for babies and children are extremely gentle and tailored to their size and stage of development.
What inspired you to practice SOT?
My journey into chiropractic started with my own family. When my first child had a severe reaction to the MMR vaccine, he lost all of his speech. As a parent, it was devastating not knowing how to help him. We tried different approaches, but nothing gave us real answers—until I discovered Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT). Through SOT care, I was able to help him fully regain his speech and so much more. That experience completely changed my life. It showed me just how powerful the body’s ability to heal can be when it’s given the right support.
That’s why I became a chiropractor—to give other families the answers, hope, and healing that I was searching for. Every patient I see is personal to me, because I know firsthand what it feels like to want the best for your child and to finally find the right path forward.
What is Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) and how is it different?
SOT (Sacro-Occipital Technique), isn’t just a technique, it’s a thorough, integrative approach to chiropractic care. It highlights the connection between the occiput and the sacrum designed to reestablish neurological balance and function. This technique applies targeted assessment and treatment methods to identify and manage various conditions, promoting the body’s innate ability to heal.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Your first visit is a comprehensive exam designed to understand your health history, concerns, and goals. This will help us understand your condition and create a plan specific to your needs.
